Singing and Teaching Singing: A Holistic Course in Classical Voice

In association with the Royal Northern College of Music and Chethams School of Music, Professor Janice Chapman, author of the internationally acclaimed book Singing and Teaching Singing: A Holistic Approach to Classical Voice (SATS), will lead a team of voice specialists and performers from the industry including the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala Milano and Deutsche Oper, Berlin in a comprehensive course at the prestigious Chethams School of Music and Baronial Library in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Due to recent developments in voice science and technology, it has become possible to build an evidence-based understanding of how the voice works.  This knowledge does not replace the empiric writings of the old Bel Canto school of singing but rather refines and enhances our understanding of past teaching methods, enabling us to teach and perform more effectively.
