SATS for Teachers

10th - 14th August, 2020

Professor Janice Chapman, author of the internationally acclaimed book Singing and Teaching Singing: A Holistic Approach to Classical Voice (SATS), will lead a team of voice specialists and vocal coaches from the industry in a comprehensive pedagogy course at the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Following the success of 2019, we are delighted to once again offer a separate SATS course that has been specifically tailored for the needs of dedicated teachers.

With a greater focus on developing diagnostic skills and the application of the SATS model in the vocal studio, our 5 day SATS for Teachers course is perfect for any voice teacher who wants a practical and hands-on approach to working with their students.

Concepts introduced in lectures will be reinforced by live demonstrations using endoscopy, spectography and ultrasound.

Guided collaborative masterclass sessions will encourage you to hone your diagnostic skills and trouble-shooting abilities via a group discussion and differential diagnosis of singers of varied backgrounds - all under the guidance of the CVT Directors.

New for 2020 - following increasing demand from teachers trained in Classical but who are being asked to teach other styles of music, we will be looking at how to adapt and use the SATS model and concepts in different genres - specifically Music Theatre and Contemporary music.
